At a glittering ceremony in the Copthorne Hotel in Masterton Manoj Kumar and Sumit Kamboj from Eketāhuna were named the 2021 Hawke s Bay/Wairarapa Share Farmers of the Year at the region s annual awards the previous Thursday night.

Crews battled a house fire for more than two hours last night in Hairini.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand received a call about a blaze at a property in Waimapu Pa Rd around 11.45pm.
The house was well-alight when crews arrived.
Four crews from Greerton, Tauranga and Mount Maunganui were on site until 2.30am.

BTS’s Jin managed to scare his bandmates out of their seats with his candid admission about crying alone at night.
The conversation initially began when KBS World’s host enquired, “Jin, when was the last time you cried?”
Almost immediately, his answer had his fellow bandmates on the edges of their seats, ready to rush to his aid at the slightest nudge.
But much to their relief, the resident joker pulled a fast one on his pals and admitted he cried over an animated film.
Telangana records 1,078 fresh COVID-19 cases, six fatalities until Friday night
Hyderabad, Apr 3 (UNI) With no sign of any ebb, the surge in COVID-19 cases continues in Telangana as the state registered a whopping 1,078 fresh Coronavirus cases until 2000 hours on Friday taking the daily count of positive cases to 3,10,819 as on date.
The state recorded six fresh fatalities due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the overall death toll as of Friday to 1,712 translating a case fatality rate of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.5 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Saturday.
